Welcome to my little online cultural jambalaya. I hope you take a savory swim in it.
In my fantasy world, I go to Lithuania and study French, then go to France and study Lithuanian. Until that happens, this is my project to build up to that time.
Creating the fantasy and this site make sense, since I was born in Chicago to World War II Lithuanian emmigrants, who met and married here. Then, as a U.S. Navy sailor, I befriended a French-speaking Belgian exchange sailor, Jean-Claude VonBostal, on the guided-missile destroyer USS Conyngham (DDG-17). That motivated me to a liberal arts degree, majoring in French, at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), in 1999.
Now, years later, as a 100 percent American, with atrophied French and Lithuanian language muscles, I built this site to fulfill my yearnings.
This site exist for me to build on what I do have (before I lose it) and anyone else who wants to hitch their wagon to this train. Let's see what happens.
Yours sincerely, in the French-Lithuanian cultural melange, Vito V.
